You can't ask much more from an aquarium fish- intense coloration and a mild temperament. The only down side is that they are easily bullied. Try keeping 2 or 3 males together. They will dig pits six inches apart and puff themselves up like dragons. Our stock comes from Zambia. Males get a bright green patch on their snout and black lips when courting.

These fish kept back for grow out, are just beginning to show color. Should begin spawning in 3-4 months.
